Who among us, ladies, hasn't had the "gypsy fantasy"... You know, the one where we're dancing seductively to haunting gypsy music beside a crackling campfire under a star-filled midnight sky.

And of course we look fabulous because we're the best-dressed gypsy girl in the caravan... And all the dashing, dark-eyed gypsy men want to seduce us...

And we finally decide on the most handsome gypsy man to invite back to our cute, colorful little wagon which is decorated with exotic scarves and silk pillows...the sensual aroma of incense wafts from brass braziers strategically placed throughout the wagon...candelight flickers in the frosted window panes...satin bedding in rich purple and green beckons from the sleeping pallet...

Why do my fantasies always turn into an episode of Trading Spaces? I think I have issues.

Well, you can come up with your own gypsy fantasy and look gorgeous no matter what it is!

Because the bodice is reversible, it's like getting two completely different looks for the price of one!

Even though this is listed as a "costume", it is far superior to "costume-quality" garments...believe me, there is a difference. High quality fabrics and notions, years of experience and a borderline psychotic attention to detail set my clothing apart from that of many other historical garment makers and costume sellers you'll find.)

The Bodice
The first side is made with a VERY colorful (more vibrant in person) tapestry fabric with a woven Persian design in tons of colors. It reverses to an incredibly elegant antique gold brocade with a woven design in light gold and blues. This bodice will go with many different colors of skirts and chemises. Natural cording laces up the front through 14 silver grommets and at the shoulders through 4 grommets for easy torso adjustment. The cording ends are crimped with aiglets for ease of threading and a nice, finished look. The interior is lined with heavy decor weight interfacing. It has 1/4" spring steel boning (plastic coated with rounded ends) in the front sections and poly boning in the side seams. What does all this mean to you? Superb support and excellent durability while still being reasonably comfortable.

This sturdy bodice is designed to achieve the period-correct conical figure by pressing the chest and stomach flat and squeezing the bosom up above the neckline. (Unfortunately, my dress form can't "squish", but hopefully you get the idea!).
YOUR chest and waist measurements should be at least the same as the Bodice and can be up to 3 inches LARGER.
The tighter the bodice, the more "push up" and "cinching" effect.
(Larger sizes will have wider straps with additional grommets.)

The Skirt
is made with four full yards of cornflower blue100% cotton fabric in a cool, comfortable weight (not cheap broadcloth). The skirt will be a great addition to your garb collection. It has a drawstring waist for the perfect fit. (I prefer drawstring to elastic in the skirts of my own costumes since they can be worn very tightly under a gown or bodice without riding down.)
Circumference is a full 144 inches.
Hemmed to desired length up to 43".

The Triangular Imported Hip Scarf
Is made with sheer Georgette fabric. It's embellished with silver coins and beads crocheted at the top and in four cascading layers. Every movement creates a delightful tinkle of sound.
Your choice of color: Fuschia or Goldenrod

The Earrings<
are the perfect finishing touch to your Gypsy ensemble. They're made with genuine iridescent Mother Of Pearl and 18K white gold-plated findings They're appoximately 2-1/4" x 1-1/2".
While supplies last, you have your choice of the five colors shown above. (Please specify color with payment or I will be forced to send the color of my own choosing.) Choices are: Aqua, Pink, Citrine, Peach, or Ivory.

Measurement Information I'll need:
1. Measure bust at fullest (do not go by bra size)
. 2. Measure waist at smallest
3. For torso length measure at the very top of your shoulder where the front and back straps will meet, then go directly down your back to your waist without angling over to your center waist. If you need a diagram, I can email you one.
4. For skirt length, measure from waist to wherever you'd like the hem to hit keeping in mind the shoes you'll be wearing and added fullness from a hoop slip or crinoline.

Snugness Preference:
SP #1: For maximum push-up and cinching, the bodice should be about 2-3 inches smaller in the bust and an inch or so smaller in the waist than your actual measurements. This is a VERY snug fit and not recommended if you're really into comfort or for "A" cup girlies.
SP #2: For a reasonably comfortable fit but still a bit of enhancement, the bodice should be about an inch smaller in the bust and the waist about the same as your actual measurement.
SP #3: For total comfort, the bodice bust should be about the same as your bust measurement and the bodice waist should be about an inch large to allow for bulkiness from the skirt.
